Abstract
Dr. Jane Curry is a professor at Santa Clara in the political science department. She specializes in comparative politics in post communist states, democratization, media, and political activism. Dr. Curry focuses on Eastern Europe. She teaches students from the former Soviet Union about democracy in Poland yearly, and she has published 11 books and 60 articles. She is currently working on research on mass demonstrations in Ukraine and Georgia and their impact growing out of a grant from the United States Institute of Peace. She is also serving as Research Director of the Cold War Communications Project. She has received many research awards, as well as served as the President of the Faculty Senate and head of the University Coordinating Committee. She also has a cocker spaniel named Sunflower!
