Abstract
This policy brief underscores the critical need for increasing mental health advertising in television media, advocating for a paradigm shift in how mental health issues are communicated to the public. Recognizing the pervasive impact of television as a medium, the brief emphasizes the necessity of disseminating non-stigmatizing, educational, and empathetic mental health messages. The core argument is centered on the premise that heightened visibility and accessibility of mental health resources through television can play a significant role in destigmatizing mental health issues. The brief highlights the importance of linguistic inclusivity, advocating for the availability of mental health advertisements in all languages, thereby ensuring equitable access to information across diverse linguistic and cultural groups. By bridging the language barriers, the proposed strategy aims to foster a more inclusive and understanding environment for mental health discourse.
