Abstract
We are proposing an evidence-focused policy brief to disseminate our message of increasing support and help-seeking behaviors among youth with mental health issues by improving attitudes towards mental health. Our goal is to show the effectiveness and predicted sustainable impact (e.g. improving social ties, quality of life, self-esteem, and access to medical and mental health services among students) of implementing an anti-stigma curriculum intervention in California schools for sixth graders. “Eliminating the Stigma of Differences” (ESD) is a successful curriculum that highlights the potential facilitators and barriers to erasing stigma and acquiring health-seeking behaviors.
