Abstract
The Emerging Farmers Initiative (EFI) aims to address the needs of vulnerable Zambian youth facing the growing threats of unemployment and climate change through an integrated agro ecological and entrepreneurial education.
The EFI will equip its apprentices with the appropriate skills and mindset change needed to start their own climate resilient agricultural enterprises, while achieving its mission to “educate the youth of Zambia out of poverty.” As it prepares to begin recruiting its first cohort of apprentices, the enterprise must first finalize its learning program, which integrates agricultural skills and entrepreneurial values across the six main production units hosted at the learning center.
