Abstract
Smallholder coffee farmers are falling victim to predatory trade practices of middlemen, keeping farmers in a perpetual cycle of poverty. NUCAFE has been alleviating this issue by eliminating the need for middlemen by leading farmers’ crops through the value chain and maintaining farmers’ ownership of their coffee crops up until they are sold. NUCAFE is aware that farmers outside of their network are still being taken advantage of so they intend to extend their network of support to the remaining coffee farmers and farmers focusing on other cash crops. throughout East Africa.
