Church Future in Light of the Sex Abuse Crisis

Abstract
Led by theologians Rosemary Ellmer, Ph.D., Sr. Elizabeth Avalos, BVM, Fr. Tom Reese, S.J., MariaSoco Castañeda-Liles, Ph.D., Kelsey Connolly, M.A. and facilitated by Sr. Marilyn Wilson, BVM, this community conversation gave venue to a group of attendees to discuss the recent sex abuse crisis in the Catholic Church. Held on August 17, 2019 in the Williman Room in Benson Memorial Center on the Santa Clara University campus, the conversation was an enlightening and energizing exchange that included a short panel presentation and conversation with about 110 caring, compassionate, and concerned individuals who wish to accompany one another in support and in hopeful dialog for the church of the future.
