Abstract
Prompted with creating a piece of public health dissemination media to convey important information about a public health topic to a specific target population, "The Birds and The Bees" group created a website for parents who want to talk to their children about sexual health. Existing literature quickly displays the pitfalls of America's current sexual education system, hence creating the focus of the website which is to provide comprehensive sexual health advice and information organized by age (3-7, 8-12, 13+) and applicable to various sexualities. The website places a call for action on parents, because the limited nature of sexual health education in schools can be supplemented for kids at home. Underlying the website is extensive research from library databases such as PubMed and Internet sites such as Planned Parenthood and the Trevor Project. The website also offers links to further resources such as state laws regarding sex education in schools.
