Abstract
This research paper delves into the complex dynamics of employee retention and company growth within the context of SuitUp, a social enterprise (SE) focused on innovative virtual and in-person business competitions, providing coaching and mentorship. Utilizing a mixed-method approach, including surveys, interviews, and participant observation, our study addresses key questions related to employee retention, opportunities for support, and the broader implications for work-life balance in remote settings. The study identifies the critical role of passion among SuitUp employees, emphasizing the need for clear growth opportunities and a well-established work-life balance for sustained engagement. Drawing on the organization's mission and context, we explore the challenges posed by a hybrid work model, particularly in remote settings, and the impact on employee satisfaction and well-being. Our findings highlight the significance of addressing burnout and fostering internal mobility to enhance retention. The research concludes with strategic recommendations to optimize employee retention, satisfaction, and scalability, aligning with SuitUp's overarching mission to bridge educational disparities and foster talent nationwide.
