Abstract
This presentation was created to share research about the effects of the diversity requirement on the Ethnic Studies department and to hold a conversation with the broader community about how to proceed with the potential diversity core increase. The presentation shows research on ETHN professors and ETHN major/minor students and their experiences with the diversity core requirement in classes and a department that serves mostly diversity core students. There are suggestions of next steps and notes from the community conversation to highlight real actions moving forward, that centers the department and those most severely affected in potential changes.
