Abstract

The International Association of Jesuit Engineering and Science Schools (IAJES) connects more than sixty Jesuit institutions worldwide to promote collaboration and shared learning in STEM research. Santa Clara University is one of more than sixty member universities whose faculty and staff participate in conferences and task forces to address priority issues identified by the Society of Jesus. IAJES’ existing website, built on a static no-code platform, limited the organization’s ability to manage content, support member interaction, and scale with its growing global network. Users faced unclear navigation options, a basic design, and no effective tools for managing roles, resources, or communication. These challenges directly hindered IAJES’ mission of fostering international collaboration.

This project addressed these limitations through the design and development of a dynamic website that improves usability while remaining easy for non-technical administrators to maintain. The platform supports secure member authentication, role-based editing privileges, centralized announcements, newsletter creation, task force management, and interactive galleries for meetings and resources. Guided by human-centered design, stakeholder feedback, and iterative prototyping, the resulting system provides IAJES with a scalable, maintainable, and professional digital hub that strengthens communication and supports future growth across its global community.
