Abstract
The number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices connected to enterprise and home networks has increased drastically. Given the prevalence of IoT devices worldwide, the tools used to measure such devices do not scale with the current rate of IoT growth. The Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), initially developed by Intel, offloads packet processing from the operating system. By utilizing DPDK, a feature collection system can collect and analyze packet data in real-time and with reduced overhead. Additionally, developers can attach their analysis engines directly onto the feature collection engine through a simple programming interface.
