Abstract

The Analytical Sciences Digital Library (ASDL) is a peer-reviewed Website created by, and for, analytical chemists as part of the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) and supported by National Science Foundation (NSF) funding. This digital library project has grown and evolved since its creation just a few years ago, and a second phase is now under way that includes Website evaluation, usability testing, and the peer review, and publication of articles. The addition of new members to the ASDL Advisory Board, and evaluation team in 2004 was designed to help broaden outreach for the site, to determine user experiences and expectations, and to identify improvements to the site based on user testing. This portion of the ASDL is sponsored by two NSF grants, DUE-0435327 and DUE-0435422 titled, “Collaborative Projects: Assessing the User-base and Expanding the Usability/Reach of the Analytical Sciences Digital Library through Developmental Workshops.”
