Abstract
Both the practice and science argues that risk management is essential for the success of IT projects (Schmidt et al 2001;. Wallace et al., 2004). The aim of this work is to answer the question of which mechanisms of prioritization of risk factors in IT projects underlie contribute. We analyze the risk data archive of ALPHA1, a large, multinational software companies and consolidate the individual risk reports in a risk database.
