Abstract

Assistive Reminder is a customizable and voice-controlled device that helps users in completing various activities by giving them specific reminders at predetermined time periods. Assistive Reminder was designed for autistic and elderly students at the Independence Network in the city of Santa Clara, California. Students at the Independence Network are highly focused when doing activities. Through a sequence of repeated voice instructions, Assistive Reminder notifies individuals to transition to subsequent tasks more quickly and efficiently. Further applications of this device would be for the elderly as well as persons with memory loss, such as those suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Assistive Reminder enables individuals to complete their tasks in more a timely and efficient manner.
