Abstract
Orphanage Without Borders is a non-profit organization that has partnered with Santa Clara University with the hopes of developing an application to provide in- need orphanages throughout the world with available resources. For our Senior Design Project, we proposed to create a web based application where volunteers and organizations/orphanages can communicate and share information on upcoming volunteer opporunities within a users local community. The web application is created using well-established web technologies, such as HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript. We then use PhoneGap to convert our web app to various mobile platforms, such as iOS, Android, and Windows. Through VolunteerConnect, we hope to reach a wide variety of users in various communities to help Orphanage Without Borders in furthering their mission of fostering sustainable networks between those in need and those that can help.
