Description

Otterbein University has an active service learning program, and offers more than 90 courses with a service learning component. During the spring of 2017 I had the opportunity to interview students from 3 different service learning classes. These interviews looked at how students differentiate research between a traditional paper and a service learning class, the influence of their own volunteer work, and how they determine what community information they consider valid. This talk will discuss the results of my findings.

Short bio of the presenter(s)

Allen Reichert has been at Otterbein University since 1999 and has been engaged with service learning classes in the Communication Department since 2012.
