Women in the Fourth Gospel and the Role of Women in the Contemporary Church
The question, what does the Fourth Gospel say about women, obviously arises within the context of the contemporary discussion concerning the role of women in the Church. Indeed, this question could only be asked in such a context because the subject of women as such is simply not a conscious concern of any of the New Testament writers.
